Do you like to celebrate your birthday for one day, one week, or all month? I kind of claim the whole month of June to help my mindset remain positive.
I plan special things for myself throughout the month of June. After one of my cousins stated on Facebook that I was being self-indulgent a couple of years ago, I now limit what I share on social media.
Not because she was right...
She wasn't...
Most people really don't understand the chronic sorrow that comes with parenting a child with autism and other disabilities.
Triggers are like buried landmines. A trigger can be stepped on unintentionally and take me back down to a place of sadness with a re-opened wound in my soul that I thought had been healed.
I really do my best to make others feel loved, encouraged, and appreciated on a daily basis and probably do not do enough for myself the other eleven months of the year... But I give myself full permission to "be good to Sandy" in June!
My tendency to use coupons and find bargains comes from the combination of working in finances and the example my parents set for me to be wise and resourceful. Finding bargains and saving money gives me little thrills. Chris always gets to hear how much I save at CVS when I am able to combine coupons! ☺
Back to my birthday month...
I received quite a few emails this year with free items and/or dollars to apply toward a purchase. I thought I would share these savings in a blog for others who may also enjoy saving money. Inflation is real, so every dollar counts!
I hope you find some fun, new, and yummy ideas to celebrate YOUR special day!
